Describe the Types of Scoliosis Patients you see in Your Clinic

Here at our Sydney clinics we see a huge variety of patients from those with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis to adult degenerative scoliosis.

Describe Common Challenges Faced by Patients With Scoliosis

Coming to terms with the diagnosis of scoliosis is often a huge shock, not only to the patient but to the family. It is an emotional time where the thoughts and feelings of everyone involved need to be delicately considered.

Explain how you Help Patients to Overcome These  Challenges

I find the best way to help families and patients overcome this hurdle is to inform and educate in a caring way. Once there is a clear understanding of the condition, future prognosis, goals, and current conservative treatment methods, the family and patients are empowered to make the best evidence-based decision in relation to their current circumstances.

Why did you Decide to Work in the Area of Scoliosis?

Scoliosis has always interested me, with its many permutations and combinations, allowing the team to be creative and novel in the treatment methods applied to each case. In many instances, scoliosis bracing can prevent surgery, making my job extremely rewarding and joy-giving.
