Our Approach

Scoliosis and Hyperkyphosis Treatment

Committed to an evidence-based treatment approach, our team at the ScoliCare clinic in Sydney’s North is poised to support you, or your child, in embarking on the treatment journey.

We begin the process with a comprehensive scoliosis assessment conducted by one of our clinicians, including a review of X-rays and medical history, and a discussion about concerns and goals.

Our approach to scoliosis treatment is patient-centered and tailored, focusing on individual needs.

Following the assessment, a personalised treatment plan will be developed. Treatment recommendations, which could include bracing, specific exercise rehabilitation (ScoliBalance®) or surgery,  if that is in the patient’s best interest, will be based on factors like age, curve severity, and current symptoms.

Our dedication to patient-centered care places individual’s goals at the forefront of the treatment process, aiming to enhance quality of life and achieve the best possible outcomes.

  • At ScoliCare Sydney North, our clinic team is dedicated to offering cutting-edge and minimally invasive scoliosis treatment options for babies, children, adolescents and adults. Common treatment options for scoliosis have traditionally involved options like generic bracing and surgical intervention. At ScoliCare, our scoliosis treatment options include:
    • Personalised 3D scanned braces — ScoliCare offers a truly custom 3D spinal brace for children, adolescents and adults with scoliosis and hyperkyphosis. The unique approach means that no two braces are the same just as no two curves are the same. Specially created for you after a comprehensive scoliosis assessment and scanning, these braces can help improve postural alignment and provide relief to common scoliosis symptoms.
    • Scoliosis specific exercises — As a leading provider of high-quality scoliosis specific exercise programs in Sydney, we firmly believe that a dynamic and personalised exercise approach is an excellent treatment option for many people living with scoliosis or hyperkyphosis. It is a treatment that is often combined with bracing. We call our program, ScoliBalance.
    • Spinal fusion — Commonly recommended for patients with moderate to severe cases of scoliosis, spinal fusion is not always your only option for treatment. At ScoliCare, we encourage our patients to explore the full range of non-surgical options available before committing to surgery. For more information about our recommendations and services, please contact us today.
