Join us for this Introduction to Bracing Workshop designed for healthcare professionals who are new to scoliosis care or looking to expand their understanding of spinal bracing and scoliosis case management.

This course will provide you with foundational knowledge and skills in the area of bracing for with scoliosis, hyperkyphosis and junctional kyphosis.

Through a combination of theoretical and hands-on sessions, you will develop essential skills in spinal deformity assessment, conservative treatment pathways, and the fundamentals of bracing techniques.

Attendees will also be enrolled into our Essentials of Scoliosis Management and Essentials of Scoliosis Bracing online courses.

This course will cover bracing for adults, adolescents and juveniles with scoliosis and/or hyperkyphosis. In particular you will cover:

  • Aetiology and pathomechanism of idiopathic and adult scoliosis
  • Classifications of idiopathic scoliosis
  • Postural scoliosis
  • Patient and x-ray assessment
  • Leg length discrepancy and scoliosis
  • Current evidence based research
  • Conservative management options for idiopathic scoliosis in children, adolescents and adults
  • Conservative assessment and management options for hyperkyphosis
  • The role of exercise in scoliosis and kyphosis
  • Introduction to the practical aspects of brace scanning for brace ordering (Practical)
  • Introduction to the practical aspects of basic brace modifications (Practical)
