Who We Are
ScoliCare’s mission is to pioneer and deliver the world’s best scoliosis treatment through innovation, research and education.

Our Team
Our Scoliosis Clinicians have been extensively trained and undertaken postgraduate studies in non-surgical scoliosis treatment.

Our Approach
With clinics across multiple regions, ScoliCare offers convenient access to non-surgical scoliosis treatment close to home.
Our Approach
- Our approach to scoliosis treatment in Wahroonga is patient-centred and tailored, focusing on individual needs.
- We begin the process with a comprehensive scoliosis assessment conducted by one of our clinicians, including a review of X-rays and medical history and a discussion about concerns and goals.
- Following the assessment, a personalised treatment plan will be developed.
- Treatment recommendations, which could include bracing, specific exercise rehabilitation (ScoliBalance®) or surgery, if that is in the patient’s best interest, will be based on factors like age, curve severity and current symptoms.

- Scoliosis-specific exercises — As a leading provider of high-quality scoliosis treatment in Sydney North, we firmly believe that a dynamic and personalised exercise approach is an excellent treatment option for many people living with scoliosis or hyperkyphosis. It is a treatment that is often combined with bracing. We call our program, ScoliBalance.
- Spinal fusion — Commonly recommended for patients with moderate to severe cases of scoliosis, spinal fusion is not always your only option for treatment. At ScoliCare, we encourage our patients to explore the full range of non-surgical options available before committing to surgery. Yes, we do. At our dedicated scoliosis clinic in Wahroonga, we provide comprehensive care for all major types of scoliosis, across every age group — from infants to older adults. Each patient is assessed by an experienced scoliosis doctor in Sydney North, and their treatment is tailored to suit the individual’s age, curve severity, posture, symptoms and goals.
We treat the following types of scoliosis:
- Infantile scoliosis (under 3 years old): This type is often identified through routine health checks or noticeable changes in posture during early development. Early monitoring and non-surgical management are typically recommended.
- Juvenile scoliosis (ages 4–9): This type of scoliosis can progress quickly, especially during growth spurts, which is why early detection and close monitoring are essential.
- Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (10–18 years): As the most common form of scoliosis, this typically develops around puberty. We focus on early diagnosis, customised bracing and scoliosis-specific rehabilitation to help manage the curve in our scoliosis clinic in Wahroonga.
- Adult scoliosis: This may either result from age-related spinal changes (degenerative scoliosis) or continue from a condition that started in adolescence. Our scoliosis treatment in Wahroonga is aimed at improving function, relieving discomfort and preventing further progression.
- Neuromuscular scoliosis: This type occurs in individuals with underlying neurological or muscular conditions such as cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy. Its management often requires a coordinated approach involving multiple health professionals.
At ScoliCare Wahroonga, we use non-surgical evidence-based options such as 3D custom bracing, scoliosis-specific exercise programs (ScoliBalance®) and ongoing monitoring. When needed, we also work closely with referring clinicians to co-manage more complex or multidisciplinary cases. If you’re unsure what type of scoliosis you or your child may have, our team is here to guide you through a detailed assessment and explain the best next steps for care.
Yes. While ScoliCare focuses on non-surgical scoliosis care, we understand that in some cases, surgery may be the most appropriate option. If our clinicians believe a surgical opinion is warranted — based on curve severity, progression, symptoms or other clinical factors — we can refer you to a spinal surgeon for further assessment.
Our team has established relationships with specialist surgeons, and we ensure any referral is made with full clinical notes, imaging and context. If surgery proceeds, we continue to support you before and after the procedure with care such as post-operative bracing, rehabilitation or long-term monitoring.
Before attending your consultation for scoliosis treatment in Wahroonga, we recommend gathering any relevant medical information, including X-rays or scans, previous treatment records and your medical history. You’ll meet with a qualified scoliosis doctor in Sydney North, who will perform a thorough assessment and discuss your concerns and goals. Wear comfy clothes, and feel free to bring a list of questions or a support person with you, especially for child or teen appointments.
Dedicated to taking an evidence-based approach to scoliosis treatment, our team at the ScoliCare Sydney North clinic is ready to help you or your child feel their best while living with scoliosis or hyperkyphosis.
To begin treatment with our team of scoliosis doctors in Sydney North, we first start with a comprehensive consultation and assessment appointment. During this appointment, we will discuss your medical history, explore your current symptoms and assess the progression and severity of your scoliosis or hyperkyphosis. This is a great opportunity to ask us any questions you may have, so please feel free to bring a list of concerns with you to the clinic.
After our team has had the chance to review the information including X-rays, your personalised treatment plan will be created. The treatment options we will suggest will depend on a multitude of factors such as age, the severity of the disease and current symptoms.
