Treatment of scoliosis using the ScoliBalance® Program in an Adult Female Patient
At age 27, the patient was experiencing daily back and hip pain, poor sleep, and worsening posture. Sitting, standing, or even lying down too long caused discomfort, severely limiting her quality of life and activity levels. She presented to the ScoliCare clinic with a triple curve measuring 25°, 34°, and 24°, significant postural asymmetry and X-rays taken 5 months prior showing recent progression.
The patient was diagnosed with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis in the Adult, which was highly likely to continue to progress. She was prescribed the ScoliBalance program to learn how to actively self-correct the spine and strengthen her posture within the corrected position.
Results
- Curve Reduction: After 8 months of treatment, the curves had reduced to 22°, 24°, and 20°.
- Improved Function and Pain Relief: Significant pain reduction, improved sleep, daily functioning and improvement of overall posture.
- Improved Quality of Life: She returned to activities like Pilates and was able to walk with better posture and less discomfort.
NB: Results vary from case to case. Our commitment is to recommend the most appropriate treatment based on the patient’s individual case.
