About Dr. Anthony Pivonka

Dr. Anthony J. Pivonka (Dr. Andy), Chiropractor and Head Clinician at ScoliCare East Phoenix Arizona, developed an early interest in chiropractic and scoliosis at the age of 13.  His interest was sparked by his mother’s history of surgically treated scoliosis and the chronic pain she lived with in the aftermath.  Chiropractic Care was the only treatment that helped her relieve the pain and Dr. Pivonka thought that he would like to help scoliosis patients achieve the same result.

In 1993, Dr. Pivonka graduated Cum Laude from LIFE Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia and has amassed an impressive array of certifications over the last 30 years.  Dr. Pivonka is Basic and Advanced Certified in Chiropractic Biophysics, Basic Certified in the Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis (SEAS),  Level 1 and Level 2 Certified in the ScoliBalance Scoliosis Exercise Method, he is a Certified ScoliBrace provider and is Basic Certified in Whiplash Biomechanics and Traumatology by the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.

Dr. Pivonka is also an Outstanding Graduate of the scoliosis Masters Course, “Principles and Practice of Scoliosis Conservative Treatment”.  This masters program,  conducted by the prestigious ISICO Institute in Milan, Italy, found Dr. Pivonka immersed, for 10 months, in learning about all aspects of non-operative conservative scoliosis management for all types of scoliosis in all ages.

Dr. Pivonka has also to contributed to scoliosis research and was Co-Author of the platform presentation, “Spine Posture Detection and Correction Using Active and Passive Biofeedback”, at the Society of Scoliosis and Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Treatment (SOSORT) conference 2017 in Lyon France.

Dr. Pivonka has also been a member of the Arizona Chiropractic Society and he was at one time the Arizona State representative for the International Chiropractors Association and is an active member of Chiropractic Biophysics Non-Profit, regularly attending their annual research conference to stay abreast of the latest research in conservative spine treatment.
